Jeffrey Zeigler is a multifaceted cellist who has collaborated with artists from Laurie Anderson to Roomful of Teeth and Philip Glass. He was a member of the Kronos Quartet for eight seasons and reflects on his beliefs about preparation by sharing the story of how he earned the job with the Kronos. He talks to Kai about how his teacher and experiences during undergraduate studies at the Eastman School of Music first opened his eyes to the world of contemporary music. They also talk about Jeffrey's mixed heritage by way of discussing his quartet, (M)iyamoto is Black Enough.
